Mistakes That Prevents You From Getting The Best Google Search Results

TECHNOLOGY

The Google search engine is the most popular search engine in the world. There are several search engines, but Google is at the top. However, the reality is that many people always make mistakes in finding perfect results on Google's engine. They search and get results, but this may not be the perfect information you may be looking for. Others perform only one search on a particular topic, tailoring search results to get a specific answer rather than the most accurate result. And they skip search results that include terms they're not familiar with.

Google has therefore identified this trend in Google's field studies. This study examines how people use the company's search engine in their daily lives.

The Google search engine is now very understanding and it's almost impossible to remember the last time you found answers to almost all questions when you saw it. However, if you are a regular Google user and are still struggling to find the perfect results for all the information you need, you can hold your breath because one of the senior scientists is here to help you with this process.

Daniel Russell, Senior Researcher - Google

Daniel Russell is a senior researcher in Google Search Quality and Customer Satisfaction. After a series of tests, Russell discovered three habits that might make it difficult to find the answers you are looking for through Google.

Let's look at the first three mistakes Russell found out when searching on Google.

1. Stop searching for a particular topic after a single Google search. A Google search is usually not enough to tell you about topics that tend to be complex or comprehensive. Russell suggests that at least two search queries on a given topic are better or more appropriate to get a more complete and comprehensive view of the topic.

2. Customize your query to get certain search results. Sometimes you search, but getting the other specific answer you are looking for is another problem. If you enter a very specific request to get the right results, your question might not be answered correctly. For example, imagine a search to find the number of arms an octopus has.

You may have heard that the answer is 8, but you are not sure. So you have decided to do a quick Google search to verify this. Instead of typing a query like "arms of an octopus 8", you only need to search for "the number of arms of an octopus". The first action might be to ask Google to take search results that include 8 arms as an answer, even though it's wrong. Russell said you should not enter terms in your search query asking Google to give you some kind of answer.

3. Avoid search results with words that you might not recognize. It's better not to miss unknown search results in strange terms. You might not have valuable information that contains the answers you are looking for. Instead, try another Google search for words that you don't know about.

Someone enters a search query that says:
"Why do I get white spots on my cheeks in the summer?" The person missed the maximum score because it contained the word "hypopigmentation," a term that, according to Healthline, refers to blemishes on the skin that are lighter than your normal skin color. But he didn't know what that meant, so he ignored it, even though it contained the information he was looking for. According to Russell, reading or writing should not let these items slip.
